First Copernicus National Conference in Portugal

On 22 and 23 March 2022, the University of Évora will host the first Copernicus National Conference, an event that aims to bring together Portuguese users of the European Earth Observation Programme Copernicus for two days of sharing and exchanging experiences. Participation in the event is free, but registration is required.

Organized by the Portuguese Space Agency – Portugal Space, theCopernicus National Conference follows the completion of three workshops focused on the potential of the Copernicus programme for the creation of applications and services in the segments of Maritime and Terrestrial monitoring, also expanding its view towards opportunities that exist for funding and developing a business model based on satellite data. The conference will take place as a face-to-face event and will be supported by the University of Évora, which is an integral member of the Copernicus Academy network.

To ensure greater community involvement in the conference, all Copernicus data users, either for research or for the development of services and/or applications, are invited to present their case studies during the conference. In addition to an exhibition area, where participants can have a small stand or a poster, participants can present their case studies as an oral presentation. Abstracts should be submitted via the registration form by 31 October (23h59 GMT).

Although participation in the conference is free of charge, the Portuguese Space Agency is available to assess logistical support (travel and accommodation) to national students.
