First Copernicus National Conference in Portugal

On 22 and 23 March 2022, the University of Évora hosted the first Copernicus National Conference, an event that brought together Portuguese users of the European Earth Observation Programme Copernicus for two days of sharing and exchanging experiences.

Organized by the Portuguese Space Agency – Portugal Space, theCopernicus National Conference followed the completion of three workshops focused on the potential of the Copernicus programme for the creation of applications and services in the segments of Maritime and Terrestrial monitoring, also expanding its view towards opportunities that exist for funding and developing a business model based on satellite data. The conference took place as a face-to-face event and was supported by the University of Évora, which is an integral member of the Copernicus Academy network.

To ensure greater community involvement in the conference, all Copernicus data users, either for research or for the development of services and/or applications, were invited to present their case studies during the conference.
