This action aims at launching 4 business challenges per year where a sponsor will express a challenge to be solved by the use of space data, and especially Copernicus based products. SMEs will have the opportunity to propose innovative ideas and concepts in answer to the business challenge expressed by the sponsor. The best concept will then be rewarded with prize money, which is to be used for the development of the concept. The objective of organizing such contests is twofold: encourage the adoption of space data by new end users, and fostering new business collaboration around Copernicus data.
This action finances the activity of an organizer which will have to:
- research sponsors,
- engineer challenges,
- organize and set up the contest
- put in place a selection process with the attribution of grants to the laureates
The main idea is to involve the legal entity which are French Copernicus Relays and benefit from their geographical distribution in France.
Outputs and Results
4 challenges a year, leading to the submission of 200 propositions of innovative solutions, and the selection of 4 laureates.
