This actions aims to initiate more use of Copernicus data and services in Iceland and raise awareness about the huge social and economical benefits that Iceland can get from Copernicus.

Iceland is a country with many challenges in nature. With its small population and relatively large area, being able to monitor the nature from space is very beneficial. In Iceland, general knowledge of the full range of benefits that Copernicus can bring is lacking. This project aims to increase awareness and initiate use of the program and its services in Iceland by setting up infrastructure in conjunction with Space Iceland, Space science and tech office. The success of this project should raise awareness of the economic benefits of Copernicus data and services, support start-up and strengthen support for the development of Iceland's space sector and the application to join the European Space Agency. The program will be an essential opportunity to introduce the social and academic, business and economic and security benefits of Iceland's Copernicus membership to stakeholders.

NLSI will coordinate, host and organise regular meetings with stakeholders and potential users of the program in order to educate and cultivate their potential in the space sector in Iceland. The meetings will also be essential to introduce all space-related activities in Iceland. Institutions, companies and individuals will have the opportunity to share their knowledge, upcoming projects and goals.
