Copernicus in French Guiana

This action aims to raise awareness of the Copernicus programme and its applications among the various actors in French Guiana. The priority objectives are 1) institutional, 2) academic and research, and 3) the private sector. More general information and awareness-raising will also be provided to a wider audience through open conferences.

This could take the form of a 2-day workshop, each half-day addressing a different audience:

1. Wide audience of Guyanese interested in the use of space technologies for different sectors of activity. The speakers, through short conferences or booths, will adapt their approaches to demonstrate that the use of the Copernicus program can be part of their daily lives.
2. The academic world and research (researchers, PhD students and teachers who want to know about the opportunities for uses of the Copernicus program in their work): Scientists will present several results and/or experiments in order to illustrate the capabilities of the program, but also the possible funding for research programs and the data & tools made available for the academic world.
3. Politicians and economic institutions: officials of the CTG, representatives of the communities of communes, consular chambers and social professionals. Speakers will address several applications in different sectors such as urbanism, security, fisheries and agriculture.
4. Entrepreneurs and project manager: The speakers will be entrepreneurs who will give feedbacks on the implementation of spatial data in their offer. This time will also allow to organize project detections through pitch contests.
