The aim of this action is to create a European Copernicus-based marketplace to promote companies using Copernicus-based solutions.

A first test will be done in 2021. The aim of this test will be to fuel the interest in the envisioned marketplace by bringing potential solution providers and users together and highlighting the advantages of such an exchange platform:

  • A 2-days event on a specific subject, e.g. “territory development/smart cities” in 2020.
    • First day: testimonies of European local authorities already using Copernicus-based solutions and testimonies of European local authorities looking for solutions to solve their needs, booths for startup/companies/academics having Copernicus-based solutions. In order to identify pioneers, we will work with the Copernicus relays & academies network
    • Second day : pitches of companies having some Copernicus-based solutions and B2B meetings
  • After the event, a web page hosted on the FPCUP website with the needs of local authorities (they can be anonymous) will be available. Companies will be able to fulfil a short document where they will present what their products/services do and how it can answer the local authorities’ needs.

A part of the webpage will gather needs/solutions available. If there are enough needs/solutions available - at least 30 solutions - a specific catalogue will be developed to create a Copernicus-based marketplace. This catalogue will be online and hosted on this website.

Outputs and Results

  • The workshop and the page with the needs of local authorities and the Copernicus-based solutions of companies will be available as output of this 1st test
  • If this is a success, a specific catalogue available on this website will be developed
  • At least 80 participants will be expected for the workshop
